ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL INC.Introduces to CanadaWastewater Treatment Systemsfor a Green Environment using the technologically advanced Biorock treatment system |
Biorock is a unique biological media developed in the Netherlands for use in wastewater treatment systems in all areas requiring advanced treatment capabilities. It can handle periods of inactivity up to six months, and requires little maintenance as sludge will not form.
Biorock was first certified in 2002 in the Netherlands following 8 months of rigorous testing by the Van Hall Institute in Leeuwarden.
For the certification, the levels of the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) are of importance, both in the incoming water (influent) and in the purified water (effluent). The average COD of incoming water was 770 mg/l, of BOD 290 mg/l and of SS 390 mg/l. The table below indicates the maximum allowed end concentrations to qualify for the class II certification, together with the final values that Biorock achieved during the whole test period.

Depending on site specific requirements, we normally use Norwesco direct bury polyethylene septic tanks for below ground systems, as they have proven themselves to be reliable and durable.

In some situations above ground tanks are required. These tanks come in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles to accomodate site specific design requirements.
For your convenience, we provide full biorock installation recommendations (download 3 pages in pdf format).
Our company believes strongly in this product as it has proven itself for reliability and has demonstrated an ability to withstand the rugged conditions expected from a top quality product. Practical for the single family detached home as well as for a residential subdivision, the Biorock disposal system is both environmentally friendly and cost effective.
GeoflowTM is a disposal system for primary or secondary treated effluent, which provides environmentally sensitive disposal options and promotes landscape control, natural vegetative growth and sensitive habitat protection. It is useful in areas that have limitations of soil depth, high groundwater conditions and aesthetic concerns re. garden or forested terrain.
In addition, this system is ideal for areas that are steeply sloped with adequate native, stabilizing vegetation, where machinery is not an option. The disposal rate reduces water usage which could jeopardize the stability of susceptible slopes.
Geoflow products contain nano-ROOTGUARD® and GeoshieldTM. Geoshield is an anti-microbial which has been found to be effective in preventing a slime build–up inside the wasteflow tube. nano-ROOTGUARD®, through a unique marriage of polymer and root-growth inhibitor, establishes a barrier zone where plant roots cannot grow.
These patented technologies completely solve root intrusion and biological plugging problems for subsurface drip applications. For research reports, articles, and product information to evaluate the advantages and limitations of subsurface drip for use in agriculture, turf and landscaping, and wastewater dispersal or re-use applications, Geoflow Inc. provides an excellent website.
